Jr. Team Tennis is the largest junior tennis
league in the United States. Jr. Team Tennis is a
program, which offers children the opportunity
to develop their individual and team tennis
skills in a fun, yet competitive atmosphere
USTA Jr. Team Tennis is a recreational tennis league for ages 8 – 18. It was established in 1991 to provide
youth with all of the health and social benefits of tennis in a co-ed, fun and competitive team environment.
USTA Jr. Team Tennis allows for participants to compete with and against individuals of similar skill and age
levels. Players participate in a league format administered and run by the United States Tennis Association
(USTA) and its 17 Sections. USTA Jr. Team Tennis has over 60,000 participants taking part across the
United States, in all 17 USTA Sections.
WHEN: Spring, summer, and fall leagues.
Spring 2008 season starts in April!
WHERE: At participating tennis facilities in the Richmond area.
FORMAT: These are mixed leagues with the opportunity to advance to
sectional and national playoffs. Each team must have a minimum of 3 girls and 3
boys. 1 girls singles, 1 boys singles, 1 girls doubles, 1 boys doubles, 1 mixed
doubles will be played. Age divisions are: 12 & under, 14 & under, and 18 &
under; with intermediate and advanced levels in each age division.
SCORING: 2 of 3 short sets (4 games) with match tiebreaker.
COST: $30.00 (+ $3.00 tennislink charge), which includes league play,
tee-shirt and balls. You must be a member of the USTA. Anyone can join the
